Overview

The University of California Agriculture and Natural Resources is seeking a Community Nutrition Educator in Eureka, CA, to conduct, manage, and evaluate a nutrition education program. The role aims to promote healthy lifestyles and community health through collaboration with local organizations, focusing on behavior change, community outreach, and education for various age groups, including youth and adults.

Key responsibilities

  • Deliver in-person lessons in English and Spanish using approved curricula
  • Recruit, train, and support community organizations and school representatives
  • Advocate for policy, system, and environmental changes to create a healthier community
  • Collaborate with local partners to discuss lesson delivery and promote inclusive practices
  • Document program accomplishments and manage evaluation data for reporting
  • Assist in developing outreach plans to engage eligible racial/ethnic groups
  • Work with team members to develop work plans and manage volunteers

Required skills

  • Associate degree or equivalent experience in nutrition, public health, or community health

  • Bilingual communication skills in English and Spanish
