Overview

The Community Life Advisor at Metropolitan Ministries plays a vital role in providing support and assistance to residential clients, ensuring a safe environment as they work towards self-sufficiency. This position involves collaborating with a therapeutic team, managing crises, and maintaining the security and well-being of the residents.

Key responsibilities

  • Assist residential clients and maintain a safe and healthy environment
  • Participate in a therapeutic team with counselors and case managers
  • Document progress updates in electronic platforms
  • Monitor residential areas for security and manage visitor access
  • Conduct inspections and administer drug tests as required
  • Communicate critical issues to staff on other shifts
  • Support team goals and actively participate in meetings and events
  • Intervene in crisis situations to resolve issues

Required skills

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Experience with behavioral health or homeless populations preferred
  • Strong interpersonal skills and maturity
  • Ability to handle crisis situations professionally
  • Computer literacy, including knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Customer service and communication skills
  • Bilingual skills a plus
