Job Description

Overview

The Community Builder is a live-in employee at a Community Holdings Property who resides on-site in exchange for reduced or free rent while supporting tenant wellness and community integration. This role involves assisting the Property Manager and social service partners in organizing community activities and providing peer support to tenants, particularly those with special needs.

Key responsibilities

  • Support the Tenant Activities Council through preparation and logistics for meetings
  • Create and maintain a monthly calendar and newsletter for social activities
  • Assist individual tenants as a Peer Support Specialist, when trained
  • Facilitate community integration and cooperation among tenants
  • Manage and oversee tenant engagement in activities and events
  • Maintain communication between tenants and property management
  • Develop proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite and Google Suite
  • Ride alongside tenants unfamiliar with public transportation

Required skills

  • Strong English-speaking skills
  • Experience with special populations, including previously homeless individuals
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office and Google Suite
  • Ability to set up, clean, and maintain communal spaces
  • Bilingual communication skills preferred
  • Ability to manage multiple roles and follow a code of conduct
