Job Description

Overview

Cuso International is seeking a Communications Officer (Women's Centre) to support the Women's Centre of Jamaica Foundation by enhancing their communication systems and boosting program visibility. This volunteer role focuses on social media management, content creation, public relations, and training development, providing an opportunity to significantly impact the Foundation's communication strategies during a five-month placement in Kingston, Jamaica, starting in September 2026.

Key responsibilities

  • Assist in establishing a vibrant social media presence and enhance audience engagement
  • Design, develop, and publish website content including newsletters and blogs
  • Plan and execute training sessions on innovative communication methods for team members
  • Contribute to public relations initiatives and compile annual reports
  • Assess current communication strengths and identify opportunities for improvement

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Media Studies, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing, or related field
  • Experience in social media management and content creation
  • Proficiency in website development and management
  • Strong public relations skills
  • Ability to develop and conduct training
