Overview

Amazon Data Services, Inc. is seeking a Commissioning Engineer for its AWS Data Center Commissioning team in Atlanta, Georgia. The role involves ensuring the quality and operational readiness of electrical and mechanical systems within AWS data centers, contributing to the reliable delivery of cloud services. The position includes collaboration with various teams to tackle complex challenges while maintaining safety and efficiency.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide testing and validation oversight for data center infrastructure.
  • Review design documents and lead Factory Witness Testing (FWT).
  • Manage third-party commissioning vendors during onsite testing.
  • Audit activities for compliance with environmental, quality, and safety requirements.
  • Develop and review commissioning documentation, including test plans and reports.
  • Communicate lessons learned and suggest program improvements.
  • Coordinate site activities and prioritize tasks among engineering and contractor teams.

Required skills

  • 5+ years of engineering, installation, or startup/commissioning experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • High technical competency in mechanical, electrical, or control systems.
  • Ability to review mechanical or electrical design documentation.
  • Experience in developing and executing test procedures.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and SharePoint.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work in high-stress environments.
