Job Description

Overview

As a Commissioning Engineer (CxE) at Amazon Data Services, you will play a critical role in overseeing the commissioning of electrical and mechanical systems within Amazon's data centers. You will work collaboratively with various teams to ensure construction quality aligns with engineering designs and customer requirements.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide testing and validation oversight of AWS data center infrastructure
  • Review design documents and equipment submittals
  • Lead Factory Witness Testing (FWT)
  • Manage third-party commissioning vendors on site
  • Conduct pre-functional, functional, and integrated systems testing
  • Audit vendor activities for compliance with environmental, quality, and safety requirements
  • Regularly report commissioning progress and metrics to the Regional Commissioning Manager
  • Coordinate site activities and prioritize tasks across teams
  • Communicate lessons learned post-project to aid in team growth
  • Manage project budgets as approved

Required skills

  • 3+ years of engineering, installation, or commissioning experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
  • NETA or ASHRAE certification or relevant coursework
  • Knowledge of critical data center systems
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Familiarity with design, construction, and maintenance of mission-critical facilities
  • Understanding of building codes and regulations
  • Experience with commercial or industrial power and mechanical systems
  • Proficiency with web-based software tools for calculations and data processing
