Overview

The Commercial Painter, Foreman at Kaloutas is responsible for overseeing painting projects while also actively participating in the painting work as needed. This role involves managing a team of painters, ensuring project materials are available, and maintaining communication with site supervisors and operations managers.

Key responsibilities

  • Participate as an active painter to keep projects on track
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with site supervisors
  • Ensure equipment and materials are on-site ahead of time
  • Calculate production rates and estimated materials needed
  • Proactively communicate project status with operations managers
  • Bill customers for extra work completed outside of original project scope
  • Assign tasks to painters and hold them accountable for completion
  • Train painters on unfamiliar or advanced painting techniques
  • Verify crew training on equipment usage and safety protocols
  • Conduct weekly Toolbox Talks and provide regular feedback
  • Partner with HR to ensure professional crew attendance and behavior
  • Adhere to all OSHA standards
  • Return phone calls/emails within 24 hours
  • Use technology for communication and work tracking

Required skills

  • 3 or more years of experience in a painter/lead painter role
  • Strong focus on safety, quality, and customer service
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Ability to read blueprints and perform basic calculations
  • Advanced knowledge of painting techniques
  • OSHA10 card and willingness to obtain OSHA30 card
  • Valid driver's license
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English
  • Punctual and consistent work attendance
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn
  • Professional communication skills
  • Ability to lift and maneuver heavy equipment
