Overview

Morris Heating and Cooling is looking for a skilled Commercial Lead HVAC New Construction Technician to join their team. This role focuses on the installation of HVAC and electrical systems in new commercial projects, with an emphasis on team leadership, project management, and training. The successful candidate will ensure the timely and efficient completion of projects while providing outstanding service and fostering a supportive work environment.

Key responsibilities

  • Supervise the installation of HVAC systems in new construction projects
  • Provide leadership and training to a team of technicians
  • Ensure job site operations are done efficiently, safely, and to high-quality standards
  • Collaborate with project managers, technicians, and subcontractors
  • Perform diagnostics and resolve issues with HVAC systems
  • Interact with customers to explain job details and offer solutions
  • Submit accurate installation reports and timecards
  • Ensure tools, equipment, and vehicles are in good working condition
  • Adhere to safety standards, including OSHA and Fall Protection guidelines
  • Help coordinate schedules to ensure proper job coverage

Required skills

  • Kentucky Journeyman License (Preferred)
  • EPA certification or Universal EPA Certification (Required)
  • 4 years experience in new construction and commercial HVAC installation (preferred)
  • Strong background as a lead technician
  • Advanced knowledge of HVAC/R systems and troubleshooting
  • Solid understanding of HVAC systems and electrical components
  • Familiar with reading blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation
  • Skilled in operating heavy machinery and tools, including welding equipment
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Physically able to lift heavy equipment
  • Able to perform well in dynamic, fast-paced environments
  • Efficiently meet deadlines and shift priorities as needed
