Overview

Messerli Kramer, a reputable law firm in the Twin Cities, is seeking a full-time Collector to join their team in Plymouth, Minnesota. The role involves recovering outstanding debts on client accounts while fostering a positive consumer experience and negotiating repayment terms. Ideal candidates will be goal-driven and eager to maximize their bonus potential.

Key responsibilities

  • Communicate with consumers via phone
  • Perform basic skip tracing
  • Negotiate repayment of debts according to firm/client standards
  • Maintain a professional demeanor while supporting a positive consumer experience
  • Accurately enter data into database and tracking system
  • Review consumer files while maintaining confidentiality

Required skills

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • 1-3 years of collections experience or related experience preferred
  • Excellent communication and people skills
  • Organized, self-motivated, and goal-oriented
  • Ability to manage stressful situations
  • Attention to detail and strong reasoning skills in negotiations
  • Working knowledge of MS Office
  • Bilingual communication (English/Spanish is a plus)
