Overview

Arrow Gear Company is seeking a CNC Turning Machine Operator for the 2nd shift to support its advanced manufacturing operations in Downers Grove, Illinois. The selected candidate will set up and operate CNC machines to produce high precision gears and related components, contributing to the company's reputation in the aerospace and defense industries.

Key responsibilities

  • Plan machining by studying work orders, blueprints, and specifications.
  • Set up lathes and install necessary tools and attachments.
  • Load feed mechanisms and verify machine settings.
  • Observe and maintain specifications during machining processes.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions.
  • Document production and quality logs for continuity across shifts.
  • Participate in educational opportunities for job knowledge enhancement.

Required skills

  • Minimum 2 years experience operating CNC lathes and mills
  • Ability to read technical mechanical drawings and understand GD&T
  • Basic mathematical skills
  • Experience with DMG/Mori Seiki NT4300/1500 machines is a plus
  • Experience in gear manufacturing is a plus
