Overview

Mate Precision Technologies is seeking a CNC Technical Solutions Specialist to join their team in Anoka, Minnesota. The ideal candidate is an experienced CNC machinist looking to transition from the shop floor to a role that combines technical expertise and customer interaction, helping to evaluate machining applications and develop innovative workholding solutions.

Key responsibilities

  • Evaluate customer machining applications and assess environments
  • Analyze key machining factors such as material type and removal rate
  • Collaborate with customers to address manufacturing challenges
  • Provide pre-sale and post-sale technical support
  • Develop engineering concept drawings and 3D CAD models for workholding applications
  • Prepare formal quotations including pricing and lead times
  • Deliver exceptional technical service to uphold company reputation
  • Work collaboratively with team members
  • Contribute to a respectful and communicative work environment

Required skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 4 years experience with multi-axis VMC/HMC machining
  • Strong knowledge of workholding principles and clamping mechanics
  • Understanding of cutting tool design and performance
  • Hands-on experience with tooling designs and machining applications
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD software such as SolidWorks or AutoCAD
  • Strong math skills related to tolerances and conversions
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints
  • Basic understanding of GD&T
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
