Be part of a culture that cares about craftsmanship and people.We are a 60+ year family-owned manufacturer offering a collaborative culture, excellent benefits, and opportunities for career growth.The RolePay Range: $42.00 - $50.00 / hourSchedule: 1st Shift Only Monday - Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PMExperience Required: 5+ years with Citizen & Star Swiss-type lathesCompliance Requirement: U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident (due to Federal/Government Contractor Regulations)Benefits: BCBS Medical & Dental, 401(k) Match, Tuition Reimbursement, Medical/Dependent Care FSAsPosition SummaryYou will develop, prove out, and maintain CNC programs; set up and operate Citizen and Star multi-axis Swiss-type turn/mill machines; and mentor less-experienced team members.Growth Opportunity: High-performing employees who demonstrate technical excellence, strong judgment, and leadership potential may be considered for advancement into a lead position.Key ResponsibilitiesProgramming & Setup: Review blueprints/GD&T to determine machining methods. Develop, prove out, and optimize CNC programs using CAD/CAM software. Set up tooling, work holding, offsets, and machine adjustments.Quality & Documentation: Verify setups through first-piece inspection and measurement. Create and maintain setup sheets, approved CNC programs, and process-control documentation under strict revision control.Troubleshooting & Maintenance: Diagnose and resolve machining, tooling, and programming issues. Perform preventive maintenance, monitor supply needs, and order replacement tooling.Mentorship & Communication: Train and mentor junior operators, setup personnel, and interns. Proactively communicate process changes, irregularities, and corrective actions to management.Safety & Compliance: Maintain clean, orderly work areas. Strictly adhere to ISO quality, ITAR, CMMC, information security, and workplace safety regulations.QualificationsExperience: 5+ years setting up and operating Citizen and Star Swiss-type CNC lathes.Technical Skills: Expert in blueprint reading, GD&T, cutting tools, speeds/feeds, work holding, and inspection practices. Strong mathematical and mechanical troubleshooting skills.Software: Proficient in CNC programming and CAD/CAM software (ESPRIT experience is highly desirable). Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; vocational, technical, apprenticeship, or machining-program training preferred.Work Style: Independent, organized, team-oriented, and capable of managing shifting priorities to meet production goals.Physical RequirementsAbility to stand regularly and move throughout the work area.Handle small parts and tools, and lift/move items weighing up to 40 pounds.Sufficient visual acuity (with or without correction) to read technical drawings, operate controls, and inspect fine surface/dimensional details.
