CNC Swiss Machinists running Star lathes are essential to producing tight-tolerance medical components used in life-saving and life-enhancing medical devices, where precision, consistency, and quality are critical. The Work You'll Be Doing In this role, you will: Operate Star CNC Swiss lathes with minimal supervision Perform tooling changes and manage offsets to maintain dimensional accuracy Run multiple machines while managing production throughput Inspect parts using micrometers, calipers, gauges, and vision systems Hold tight tolerances required for medical manufacturing Deburr, buff, and finish parts to print specifications Troubleshoot machining issues independently and make necessary corrections Complete production documentation accurately to maintain traceability Perform routine preventative maintenance and uphold 5S standards Support and assist other machinists as needed Machines, Controls & Inspection You'll work with precision equipment and inspection tools such as: Machines: Star CNC Swiss-type lathes Inspection Tools:Micrometers, calipers, bore gaugesDepth & chamfer gaugesOptical comparatorThread, ring, plug, and pin gagesKeyence Vision System Support Equipment: Manual machine tools and press equipment Materials You'll Work With Medical-grade metals and precision components (Specific materials vary by program) What We're Looking ForRequired 2+ years of CNC Swiss machining experience (or journeyman-level skills) High school diploma or equivalent Strong blueprint reading and GD&T interpretation skills Solid understanding of shop math and precision measurement Ability to work independently and follow written/verbal instructions Comfortable standing for extended periods and handling materials up to 30 lbs Preferred (Not Required) Medical device manufacturing experience Experience running and setting up multiple Swiss-type machines (Star or Citizen) simultaneously Familiarity with lean manufacturing or 5S environments Why Machinists Like Working Here Machinists choose Viant Medical because of: Clean, climate-controlled, and well-organized shop environment Steady 2nd and 3rd shift schedule Strong quality systems and clear expectations Competitive pay with excellent PTO and benefits Opportunities to grow within a global medical device manufacturer Work that directly supports life-saving medical technologies Pay, Benefits & Schedule Pay: Competitive hourly pay (based on experience and skill level) Benefits (Day 1 Eligibility): Medical, dental, and vision insurance 401(k) with company match 3.5 weeks PTO Additional benefits and wellness programs Schedule: 2nd Shift (2 openings) 3rd Shift (1 opening) Full-time Overtime as needed Apply Interested machinists can apply directly through hireCNC.
