Overview

The Senior CNC Setup Operator and Applications Engineer at Advanced Search Group will be responsible for leading advanced job setups, tooling, fixturing, and machining processes for complex parts in a precision machining environment. This role focuses on CNC setups for 3-axis, 4-axis, and 5-axis milling, as well as simple CNC lathe setups, requiring strong problem-solving skills and experience in high-tolerance manufacturing.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop and improve advanced CNC job setups for complex machined parts
  • Create practical tooling, fixturing, and workholding solutions for milling operations
  • Support simple CNC lathe setup planning and application
  • Evaluate prints, tolerances, materials, and machine capability
  • Troubleshoot setup, fixturing, tooling, and machining issues
  • Improve repeatability, first-pass success, and process consistency
  • Create setup documentation, tool lists, and operation guidance
  • Collaborate with programmers, machinists, and inspection personnel
  • Apply blueprint reading and GD&T understanding in a build-to-print environment

Required skills
