Overview

General Plastics Manufacturing Company is seeking a skilled CNC Programmer/Machinist to join their team in Tacoma, Washington. The role involves programming CNC machinery and requires strong skills with Mastercam and experience in operating Haas and Fanuc controls, particularly in the aerospace components sector.

Key responsibilities

  • Write CNC programs in Mastercam for complete parts including fixtures and tools
  • Operate multiple CNC machines with minimal direction
  • Edit CNC programs on machines or using CAM programming
  • Review engineering documents for clarity and quality
  • Collaborate with CNC team members effectively
  • Complete work orders while meeting stringent timelines

Required skills

  • 10 years of industry experience, with at least 5 years in setup and programming
  • Proficiency in Mastercam
  • Experience with Haas and CMS machines
  • Familiarity with 3, 4, and 5 axis CNC machines
  • Excellent mechanical aptitude and print reading skills
  • Knowledge of GD&T per ASME Y14.5M-1994 standard
  • Ability to interpret instructions from supervisors
  • Experience machining plastics or composites preferred
  • High school diploma or GED
