Overview

MANSFIELD METAL SOLUTIONS LLC is seeking a Principal CNC Programmer / Machinist to lead machining strategies and oversee CNC programming for aerospace and medical device components. This role requires a highly experienced professional who will define machining methodologies, optimize processes, and provide technical leadership within a precision manufacturing environment.

Key responsibilities

  • Own CNC programming strategy for complex aerospace/medical device components from print review through production release
  • Develop, validate, and optimize CNC programs using CAM software and G-code
  • Define machining methodologies including sequencing, toolpaths, and cutting strategies
  • Lead prove-outs, first-article runs, and process qualifications
  • Independently set up and run jobs on CNC mills and lathes
  • Design and implement advanced fixturing and tooling solutions
  • Troubleshoot machining, tooling, and process issues
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for CNC programming and machining processes
  • Establish and maintain machining standards and best practices
  • Support engineering, quality, and production teams with manufacturability input

Required skills

  • 10+ years of experience in aerospace or regulated, high-precision manufacturing
  • Expert-level CNC programming and hands-on machining experience
  • Extensive experience with CNC milling and turning
  • Advanced knowledge of GD&T and aerospace drawing interpretation
  • Proven track record with tight-tolerance, high-complexity components
  • Strong mechanical intuition and structured problem-solving skills
  • Ability to operate with full autonomy and technical accountability
  • High proficiency with CAM software (Mastercam, Fusion 360, NX, or similar)
