Overview

Orbit Machining Company is looking for a CNC Mechanical Engineer to join their Lathe Department on the 2nd shift. This role involves operating and maintaining CNC machines, ensuring safety and quality in the manufacturing process, and assisting other machinists as needed.

Key responsibilities

  • Prepare and operate CNC machines for drilling and milling tasks.
  • Read blueprints and mechanical drawings to understand job specifications.
  • Translate instructions into computer commands for machine operation.
  • Prepare and load raw materials and parts onto machines.
  • Conduct test runs to ensure output meets specifications.
  • Supervise machine operations and make necessary adjustments.
  • Inspect and measure finished products to verify compliance.
  • Perform daily maintenance and check machinery to ensure functionality.

Required skills

  • Proven experience as a CNC operator.
  • Experience using Fanuc and Mazatrol controls.
  • Skill in operating CNC machinery and precision measurement tools.
  • Strong computer skills with basic understanding of CAD/CAM.
  • Strong math skills for inputting dimensions into machinery.
  • Attention to detail and results-driven approach.
  • Problem-solving skills for process and machinery issues.
  • Good communication abilities.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; engineering certificate preferred.
