Overview

Schneider Packaging Equipment is seeking an onsite CNC Machinist/Programmer in Brewerton, NY. In this role, you will be responsible for manufacturing parts from various materials such as Steel and Aluminum, executing machining operations collaboratively, and ensuring quality control according to engineering specifications.

Key responsibilities

  • Safely use established machining techniques to make parts to engineering specifications
  • Program parts to optimize efficiency and quality
  • Perform a variety of CNC machining operations using technical knowledge
  • Analyze and interpret engineering drawings
  • Conduct in-process checks for conformity to prints
  • Collaborate with supervisors and engineering for clarification of tasks
  • Suggest process improvements
  • Complete required paperwork and labor reporting

Required skills

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 5+ years of CNC Machining experience preferred
  • Ability to interpret blueprints effectively
  • Proficient with measuring tools like calipers and micrometers
  • Experience setting up, programming, and operating CNC machinery independently
  • Strong shop math skills
  • Manual dexterity for keyboard and equipment operation
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable motor vehicle record
