Overview

Princeton Tool Inc is seeking an experienced CNC Machinist-Programmer in Mentor, Ohio. This role involves independently manufacturing complex precision components while meeting stringent quality requirements for the aerospace, defense, and power generation sectors. The ideal candidate will have advanced machining and CNC programming skills, along with the ability to develop efficient machining strategies.

Key responsibilities

  • Interpret engineering drawings and GD&T requirements
  • Develop machining strategies for components
  • Create CNC programs using CAM software
  • Select cutting tools, work holding, and machining methods
  • Perform machine setups and first-piece inspections
  • Manufacture precision components from various materials
  • Troubleshoot machining issues and make adjustments
  • Optimize cycle times and machining processes
  • Collaborate with Engineering and Quality teams
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives
  • Train and mentor less experienced machinists
  • Maintain a clean work area

Required skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 5 years of CNC machining experience
  • Minimum 3 years of CNC programming experience
  • Strong understanding of GD&T and blueprint reading
  • Experience with CNC milling and turning centers
  • Proficiency using precision measuring instruments
  • Problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities
  • Technical degree or equivalent machining training
  • Experience with Siemens NX or similar CAM systems
  • Experience with multi-axis machining centers
  • Knowledge of aerospace and defense component machining
  • CMM operation experience
  • Lean manufacturing experience
  • Strong attention to detail and quality
