Overview

Weller Metalworks is looking for an experienced CNC Machinist to join their team on the 2nd shift, focusing on guiding the Machining department's transition and growth. The role involves setting up and operating advanced vertical mills and turning centers while mentoring and developing team members to enhance productivity and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

  • Set up and operate vertical machine centers and lathes with high pressure coolant
  • Coach and mentor team members to develop a highly competent workforce
  • Assist management in cycle time improvement and cost reduction activities
  • Ensure high productivity while maintaining quality standards
  • Train new employees and enhance the skillset of existing team members

Required skills

  • 6-10+ years of experience in production machining
  • Experience with vertical milling and turning centers
  • Knowledge of M&G coding, blueprint reading, and machine set-up
  • Faro arm or other CMM tool experience preferred
  • Experience with Hass controls preferred
  • Basic computer skills
  • Ability to use micrometers, height gauges, bore gauges, and calipers
