Overview

C & S Machine & Manufacturing Corporation is seeking a CNC Machine Operator to join their team in Louisville, Kentucky. This entry to mid-level position involves operating CNC mills and lathes in a modern manufacturing environment, where the company produces precision components for the aerospace, defense, firearms, and OEM sectors.

Key responsibilities

  • Set up and operate CNC mills and lathes
  • Load raw materials, tooling, fixtures, and workholding
  • Follow work instructions and setup documentation
  • Monitor machining operations for quality and efficiency
  • Perform in-process and final inspection using precision measuring tools
  • Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
  • Make machine adjustments and troubleshoot basic issues
  • Maintain accurate production and quality records
  • Perform routine machine maintenance and housekeeping
  • Collaborate with production, quality, and manufacturing teams

Required skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Basic math skills
  • Ability to read blueprints and follow work instructions
  • Experience operating CNC mills and lathes (preferred 1+ years)
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 standards
  • Forklift certification (preferred)
