Overview

The CNC Machine Operator at Apparent Technologies Inc. is responsible for producing machined parts by operating various CNC machines while adhering to quality and safety standards. The role requires proficiency in operating machinery, preparing raw materials, and ensuring output meets specifications.

Key responsibilities

  • Prepare and operate CNC machines for tasks such as drilling, grinding, and milling
  • Read blueprints and mechanical drawings to understand specifications
  • Translate instructions into computer commands for machine operation
  • Load raw materials and parts onto machines
  • Conduct test runs to ensure machines produce outputs according to specifications
  • Supervise and adjust machines during operation for optimal results
  • Inspect and measure finished products against requirements
  • Maintain machinery daily to ensure functionality

Required skills

  • 2 years of proven experience as a CNC operator
  • Knowledge of GD&T dimensioning and geometry
  • Strong shop math and measuring instrument skills
  • Journeyman understanding of machine practices
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong problem-solving abilities
  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Basic understanding of computer programming and CAD/CAM
  • Mastercam experience is a plus
  • High school diploma or equivalent; certificate in engineering is a plus
  • Completed apprenticeship required
