Overview

The CNC Machine Operator at Apparent Technologies Inc is responsible for producing machined parts using various CNC machines while ensuring adherence to quality and safety standards. The position offers both first and second shift opportunities in Austin, Texas.

Key responsibilities

  • Prepare and operate CNC machines for tasks such as drilling, grinding, and milling
  • Read blueprints and mechanical drawings to understand task specifications
  • Translate instructions into computer commands for machine operation
  • Load raw materials and parts onto the machines
  • Conduct test runs to ensure machine outputs meet specifications
  • Set machines for full cycles to fabricate large quantities of parts
  • Supervise machine operations and make necessary adjustments
  • Inspect and measure finished products to confirm compliance with requirements
  • Maintain and check machinery daily for proper functionality

Required skills

  • 2 years of proven experience as a CNC operator
  • Good knowledge of GD&T dimensioning and shop math
  • Journeyman understanding of machine practices
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong problem-solving abilities
  • Motivated to learn and teach machining skills
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Basic computer skills and understanding of CAD/CAM
  • Experience with Mastercam is a plus
  • High school diploma or equivalent; relevant certificates are a plus
  • Completion of an apprenticeship is required
