Overview

Standard Locknut LLC is seeking a CNC Lathe Operator to join their production team in Westfield, Indiana. The role involves the setup, programming, and operation of CNC equipment to meet manufacturing and quality standards while fostering a productive work environment aligned with the company's POWER culture.

Key responsibilities

  • Sets up and operates CNC and auxiliary equipment to produce high-quality products
  • Performs minor edits to CNC programs for efficiency and accuracy
  • Reads and interprets blueprints, technical drawings, and job instructions
  • Programs mills and lathes with precise instructions using math concepts
  • Monitors and maintains specifications during CNC operations
  • Troubleshoots process malfunctions and adjusts controls or reprograms
  • Maintains and sharpens tools, replacing worn components as needed
  • Participates in continuous improvement and team problem-solving initiatives
  • Assists with special projects such as prototype development
  • Keeps the work area and equipment clean, safe, and orderly
  • Strictly adheres to safety procedures and quality standards
  • Engages in training and development to stay current with industry practices

Required skills

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Proficiency in decimals, fractions, geometry, and basic math
  • Experience using precision measuring tools (e.g., micrometers, calipers, gauges)
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documents
  • Strong basic reading, writing, and English language skills
  • Prior experience with CNC programming and operating (preferred)
