Overview

BJC Medical Group is seeking a Part Time Clinical Triage Nurse for its Access Center in Boston, Massachusetts. The role involves providing direct telephonic care to patients and requires recent RN experience in the Emergency Department or Medical-Surgical Floor. The ideal candidate will utilize their clinical judgment and critical thinking skills to direct patients to the appropriate level of care while working in a fast-paced remote environment.

Key responsibilities

  • Assess patients telephonically and direct them to the appropriate level of care
  • Schedule appointments for patients across various resources
  • Provide patient education and support, including verbal and written instructions
  • Utilize various technologies and software applications to coordinate patient care
  • Perform routine tasks such as medication refills, ordering tests, and scheduling appointments
  • Collaborate professionally with other healthcare team members
  • Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ensure accurate communication with primary care providers

Required skills

  • RN license
  • BLS certification preferred
  • 2-5 years of nursing experience
  • Experience in Emergency Nursing, Medical-Surgical Nursing, or Triage
  • Telehealth experience
  • Strong critical thinking and clinical judgment skills
  • Computer skills for various software applications
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
