Overview

BJC Healthcare is seeking a Part Time Clinical Triage Nurse for their Access Center, responsible for providing telephonic care to patients. The role demands critical thinking and clinical judgment to accurately direct patients to the appropriate level of care, while collaborating with various healthcare providers in a fast-paced remote environment.

Key responsibilities

  • Assess patients telephonically using the nursing process and clinical judgment
  • Direct patients to the appropriate level of care and schedule appointments
  • Provide patient education and support with verbal and written instructions
  • Utilize various technologies and software applications to coordinate patient care
  • Apply standard work procedures to routine tasks such as medication refill requests and ordering tests
  • Collaborate with healthcare team members and provide excellent customer service to callers

Required skills

  • Recent RN experience in Emergency Department or Medical Surgical Floor
  • Clinical judgment and critical thinking
  • Telehealth and patient assessment skills
  • Ability to use multiple computer applications and specialized telephony equipment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
