Overview

The Clinical Nurse Manager - Observation at OhioHealth is responsible for ensuring the delivery of evidence-based nursing care in a designated area. This role involves planning, organizing, directing, and evaluating patient care while providing leadership and management to a healthcare team. The manager plays a key role in integrating the Nursing Philosophy with the organization's mission and goals.

Key responsibilities

  • Assist in accountability for ongoing delivery of patient care and ensure application of the nursing process
  • Coordinate nursing care with other healthcare disciplines across the continuum of care
  • Maintain daily unit operations including staffing and patient management
  • Participate in recruitment, selection, retention, and evaluation of personnel
  • Contribute to fiscal management of the unit
  • Provide leadership and support for staff development and education
  • Participate in quality and process improvement activities
  • Encourage staff involvement in nursing evaluative research activities

Required skills

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
  • Registered Nurse (RN) license in Ohio
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • 2-3 years of nursing experience in related areas
  • Leadership experience in healthcare settings
  • Skills in interpersonal relationships and communication
  • Computer application skills relevant to nursing
