Overview

Duke Health is seeking a Clinical Nurse IV Leader for its Infusion Clinic in Durham, North Carolina. This role involves providing, supervising, and documenting professional nursing care while embracing the mission of advancing health together within a Magnet-designated organization. The Clinical Nurse IV Leader will lead a team and ensure quality care is delivered to patients receiving infusions and injections for a range of conditions.

Key responsibilities

  • Plan, provide, supervise, and document professional nursing care according to physician orders
  • Individualize patient care plans based on assessments and needs
  • Delegate tasks and supervise activities of nursing team members
  • Act as team leader or charge nurse for assigned patients or units
  • Monitor care environment, including equipment and resources
  • Participate in own professional development and support staff development
  • Identify clinical improvement opportunities and participate in performance improvement activities
  • Perform related duties as assigned

Required skills

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or higher
  • Registered Nurse with compact license
  • BLS certification
  • Knowledge of nursing process and professional theory
  • Ability to assess needs of acute and chronically ill patients
  • Strong communication skills with patients and healthcare teams
  • Competence in clinical documentation
  • Knowledge of infection control procedures
  • Ability to work collaboratively and maintain effective relationships
