Overview

The Clinical Nurse - Acute MedSurgical A at CHRISTUS Health plays a vital role in coordinating and implementing patient care tailored to specific age populations in Santa Fe, New Mexico. This position emphasizes quality and safety in clinical practice, aligning with the organizational mission and standards of care.

Key responsibilities

  • Obtain and record initial patient assessments and establish care priorities
  • Re-assess patients to identify progress and necessary interventions
  • Develop and implement individualized patient care plans
  • Make nursing decisions based on patient evaluations and modify care plans as needed
  • Engage in health education and discharge planning for patients and families
  • Document interventions and evaluate care plans effectively
  • Perform various Point of Care testing procedures

Required skills

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program
  • Current New Mexico RN license or Compact state license
  • BLS Certification required or within 2 weeks of hire
  • Knowledge of patient rights and appropriate communication
  • Experience in medical-surgical nursing and patient care
