Overview

Mayo Clinic is seeking a Clinical Lab Technologist for the Cell/Mol Immunology Lab, specifically for contractors currently working in this environment. The role involves performing analyses to support healthcare providers in diagnosing and treating patients, while also maintaining testing capabilities within specialized laboratories.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform analyses to aid in the diagnosis, prognosis, and treatment of patients
  • Participate in operational support activities to maintain and optimize testing capabilities
  • Operate and maintain specialized laboratory instrumentation
  • Troubleshoot assays and evaluate tests for accuracy
  • Assist in interpreting test results
  • Work with multiple computer systems to retrieve information and report results
  • Strictly adhere to safety protocols with infectious specimens and chemicals
  • May assist with specimen collection

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in chemistry or a biological science
  • Experience with laboratory instrumentation and assay systems
  • Ability to produce accurate results under time constraints
  • Strong multi-tasking abilities in a fast-paced environment
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to accommodate flexible scheduling including off-shifts and weekends
