Overview

Mayo Clinic is seeking a Clinical Lab Technologist to join their team in Barron, Wisconsin. The role involves performing clinical testing, quality control, and specimen processing in a laboratory setting while contributing to patient care through accurate test results and effective communication with medical staff.

Key responsibilities

  • Collect, receive, and process laboratory specimens safely and accurately.
  • Perform clinical testing using automated and manual technology.
  • Conduct quality control and assurance procedures.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot laboratory equipment.
  • Participate in external quality controls and maintain laboratory documentation.
  • Display competency in phlebotomy for various age ranges.
  • Communicate critical values and clinical care information effectively.
  • Work in different laboratory sections and perform operational support functions.

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology, Medical Laboratory Science, or related field.
  • Microscopic analysis skills.
  • Proficiency in medical laboratory procedures and instruments.
  • Knowledge of Blood Bank theory and applied chemical analysis.
  • Microbiology/PCR skills.
  • Applied Hematology/Coagulation knowledge.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in phlebotomy and specimen collection.
  • Applied Urinalysis knowledge.
