Overview

Mayo Clinic is seeking a Clinical Lab Technologist for their Barron, Wisconsin location. This role involves performing various laboratory tests, ensuring quality control, and maintaining equipment while putting patient needs first.

Key responsibilities

  • Collect, receive, and process specimens safely and accurately
  • Perform clinical testing using automated and manual technology
  • Conduct quality control and quality assurance procedures
  • Maintain laboratory equipment and troubleshoot technical issues
  • Participate in external quality controls and perform laboratory competencies
  • Maintain laboratory documentation and files
  • Communicate effectively with healthcare providers regarding test results
  • Work across multiple sections of the laboratory
  • Facilitate operational support functions as needed

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology, Medical Laboratory Science, or related field
  • Certificate in Medical Laboratory Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology recognized by NAACLS
  • Microscopic analysis
  • Proficiency in medical laboratory procedures and instruments
  • Knowledge of Blood Bank theory and applied chemistry
  • Microbiology/PCR skills
  • Hematology and Coagulation knowledge
  • Proficiency in phlebotomy and specimen collection techniques
  • Applied Urinalysis knowledge
