Overview

The Client Service Specialist for Commercial Lines at Marshall & Sterling Inc. is a client-focused role that emphasizes communication and relationship-building in the insurance industry. This position, based in Latham, NY, requires a licensed professional who is proactive in ensuring policy accuracy and contributing to account retention and growth.

Key responsibilities

  • Review policy coverage and identify areas for enhancement
  • Coordinate with the Account Manager
  • Underwrite individual risk situations
  • Secure applications for coverage from sales executives and clients
  • Review policies for accuracy and completeness
  • Address cancellation requests and assist in retaining accounts
  • Communicate with clients regularly to thank them for their business
  • Document all interactions regarding coverage and exposures
  • Perform financial duties as directed by management

Required skills

  • Property and Casualty Insurance license
  • Strong communication skills
  • Experience in insurance lines of coverage
  • Fundamental rating and underwriting skills
  • Experience with Microsoft Office programs
  • Knowledge of Vertafore is a plus
  • High level of organizational ability
  • Attention to detail
