Overview

Capital Waste Services LLC is looking for a Class A CDL Driver to operate a tractor-trailer for waste and recycling transportation in Tazewell, Virginia. The role emphasizes safety and compliance with DOT regulations, requiring efficient operation in a fast-paced environment while delivering materials to designated locations.

Key responsibilities

  • Safely operate a Class A tractor-trailer in compliance with all laws and company policies
  • Transport waste and recyclable materials to and from landfills and transfer stations
  • Secure loads properly to ensure safe transport
  • Navigate local and regional routes safely and efficiently
  • Complete assigned hauls on schedule and communicate any delays
  • Maintain accurate trip logs and required documentation
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections
  • Report mechanical issues and comply with safety procedures
  • Maintain tractor and trailer in clean, safe working condition
  • Assist with yard operations and equipment staging
  • Represent the company professionally at job sites

Required skills

  • Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL-A)
  • Valid DOT Medical Card
  • Acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR)
  • Ability to operate a tractor-trailer safely and efficiently
  • Ability to pass drug & alcohol screening and background checks
  • Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • 1-3 years of tractor-trailer or roll-off experience (preferred)
  • Familiarity with waste, recycling, or heavy transportation
