Job Description

Overview

Liberty Mutual Insurance is seeking a Senior Workers Compensation Claims Specialist to join their Claims Team in Vancouver, Washington. This role involves processing and analyzing moderately complex to complex claims, making decisions about liability and compensability, negotiating settlements, and mentoring team members. Candidates must reside within 50 miles of specified locations and may have opportunities for remote work depending on their residency.

Key responsibilities

  • Conduct investigations of claims including interviewing insureds and gathering evidence.
  • Determine the need for and engage independent adjusters and medical examiners.
  • Assess policy coverage, notify insureds of issues, and adjust reserve requirements during claim processing.
  • Negotiate settlements within assigned authority limits.
  • Coordinate litigation activities for timely resolution of claims.
  • Mentor and train new team members.
  • Participate in Quality Review processes and Suit Committees.
