Overview

Liberty Mutual Insurance is seeking a Workers Compensation Claims Specialist to join their fast-growing team in Scottsdale, Arizona. The role involves reviewing, analyzing, and processing moderately complex to complex claims while also mentoring team members and assisting the Claims Team Manager.

Key responsibilities

  • Conduct investigations of claims by interviewing insureds, witnesses, and claimants.
  • Assess policy coverage and notify insureds of any issues.
  • Determine and establish reserve requirements during claim processing.
  • Negotiate settlements within assigned authority limits.
  • Coordinate litigation activities and attend trials as a company representative.
  • Mentor and train new team members.
  • Participate in Quality Review process and conduct closed file reviews.

Required skills

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in Workers' Compensation claims handling.
  • Direct claims handling experience from investigation through resolution.
  • BS/BA degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Knowledge of claims investigation techniques and medical terminology.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain applicable licenses.
