Overview

Society Insurance Company is seeking a Claims Representative II to manage moderate to complex bodily injury and general liability claims. The role involves investigating claims, determining liability, and negotiating settlements while maintaining high integrity and professionalism.

Key responsibilities

  • Manage and settle mildly complex bodily injury and general liability claims.
  • Investigate claims by examining records, interviewing involved parties, and consulting with experts.
  • Determine insurance carrier's liability and reach agreements with claimants.
  • Handle mediations, arbitrations, and oversee attorney handling of litigation.
  • Mentor and train junior claims representatives.
  • Ensure proper documentation of claims files and compliance with company requirements.
  • Prepare reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing claim information.
  • Participate in team efforts and contribute to catastrophe teams and departmental guidelines.

Required skills

  • Bachelor's Degree and 3+ years of claims handling experience or 5+ years of claims handling experience.
  • Proficient in general liability claims and knowledge of insurance policies.
  • Ability to obtain necessary state licensing.
  • Professional insurance designations are desirable.
  • Litigation experience is highly desirable.
  • Experience with Guidewire Claims System is desirable.
  • Strong negotiation and problem-solving skills.
