Job Description

Overview

Society Insurance is seeking a Claims Representative II to handle moderate to complex bodily injury and general liability claims. This role involves investigating losses, determining liability, and negotiating settlements, focusing on Commercial General Liability and premises liability exposures.

Key responsibilities

  • Manage and settle mildly complex claims by determining liability and reaching agreements with claimants.
  • Investigate claims through examining documents, interviewing involved parties, and consulting records.
  • Handle mediations, arbitrations, and subrogation; oversee attorney involvement in litigation processes.
  • Mentor and train junior claims representatives in claims handling expertise.
  • Prepare reports by collecting and analyzing claim information.
  • Participate in catastrophe teams and provide feedback to underwriting as needed.

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree and 3 years of claims handling experience or 5 years of relevant experience
  • Proficiency in general liability claims and knowledge of insurance policies and regulations
  • Ability to obtain necessary licensing for states requiring it
  • Professional insurance designations and litigation experience highly desirable
  • Experience using Guidewire Claims System is preferred
