Overview

As a Claims Auto Adjuster - Non-Injury at USAA, you will manage the entire claims process for auto insurance, which includes investigating liability, negotiating claims, and ensuring compliance with state laws. This role is crucial in providing exceptional service to members of the military community and their families while working in a flexible environment that allows partial remote work after six months in the office.

Key responsibilities

  • Investigates liability and applies appropriate coverage for auto claims.
  • Evaluates, negotiates, and settles moderately complex auto claims.
  • Identifies coverage concerns and refers cases to the Special Investigation Unit when necessary.
  • Gathers information from multiple parties to determine liability.
  • Documents claims processes including damage evaluation and settlement decisions.
  • Collaborates with internal and external partners to facilitate claims resolution.
  • Supports workload surges and catastrophe response operations.
  • Ensures compliance with risk and compliance policies.

Required skills

  • High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma
  • 1 year of customer service experience
  • Progressive experience handling low complexity auto non-injury liability claims
  • Knowledge of auto claims contracts and relevant state laws
  • Negotiation, investigation, communication, and conflict resolution skills
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task using various business applications
  • Proficiency with Guidewire or similar claims management systems
  • Acquisition and maintenance of insurance adjuster license within 90 days
