Overview

The Claims Appraiser - Auto Estimatics at State Farm is responsible for assessing vehicle damage and preparing repair estimates based on information collected from repair shops and customers. This role emphasizes providing exceptional customer service throughout the claims process while ensuring accuracy in damage assessment and estimates.

Key responsibilities

  • Collect vehicle information and complete initial and supplemental estimates via photos or in person
  • Utilize automated estimating systems to prepare repair estimates
  • Provide technical support to claim handlers on vehicle repair issues
  • Evaluate bid content and photo documentation, vehicle damage, and causation issues
  • Manage inbound and outbound customer calls during the claims process
  • Address customer inquiries and concerns promptly and professionally

Required skills

  • Auto collision repair and damage estimating experience
  • Auto insurance appraiser experience
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Critical thinking and decision-making capabilities
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task across technical platforms
  • Accountability and resourcefulness
  • Physical agility for evaluating vehicle damage
  • Valid driver's license
  • Motor Vehicle Physical Damage Appraiser License (preferred)
  • CCC One and/or Mitchell knowledge (preferred)
  • I-CAR Platinum Certification (preferred)
