Job Description

Overview

As a Claims Appraiser specializing in Auto Estimatics at State Farm, you will play a crucial role in the claims process by collecting vehicle information, estimating damage, and providing exemplary customer service. This position is remote-field based, requiring travel for in-person appointments while allowing flexibility in work hours.

Key responsibilities

  • Collect vehicle information from repair shops or customers and complete initial and supplemental estimates
  • Utilize automated estimating systems to prepare repair estimates
  • Provide technical support to claim handlers on vehicle repair issues
  • Evaluate vehicle damage, bid content, and causation issues
  • Answer inbound calls and make outbound calls to customers
  • Provide exceptional customer service throughout the claims process

Required skills

  • Auto collision repair and damage estimating experience
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Strong critical thinking and decision-making abilities
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task across technical platforms
  • Physical agility to evaluate vehicle damage
  • Valid driver's license
  • Motor Vehicle Physical Damage Appraiser License (preferred)
  • Knowledge of CCC One and/or Mitchell (preferred)
  • I-CAR Platinum Certification (preferred)
