Overview

As a Claim Specialist - Property Field Inspection at State Farm, you will be responsible for handling accident and weather-related claims for homeowners, commercial properties, and large losses. This role involves conducting property inspections, collaborating with policyholders, and ensuring exceptional customer service throughout the claims process.

Key responsibilities

  • Conduct on-site inspections and assessments of property damages for residential and commercial claims
  • Collaborate with policyholders, insurance agents, and other involved parties to gather information and resolve claims
  • Provide exceptional customer service, addressing inquiries and concerns promptly and professionally
  • Gather evidence, document findings, and prepare detailed reports to support the claims process
  • Investigate and adjust personal and commercial property claims with exposures up to $500,000
  • Evaluate coverage and policy terms to determine claim validity and compliance with regulations
  • Negotiate and settle claims within authorized limits

Required skills

  • Experience as a Property Field Inspection Claim Specialist in the insurance industry
  • Strong knowledge of property insurance policies and claim handling practices
  • Familiarity with residential and commercial building construction
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to handle difficult or emotional conversations with a customer-minded focus
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and analytical skills
  • Proficient in claims management software
  • Valid driver's license
