Overview

The Civil Superintendent at The Middlesex Corporation will oversee the field planning and management of bridge-related aspects of construction projects. This role emphasizes quality work, adherence to safety policies, and maintaining project schedules, contributing to the company's leadership in the heavy civil construction industry.

Key responsibilities

  • Organize and plan jobs with the Project Manager
  • Oversee time sheets for labor and equipment, and daily reports
  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients and subcontractors
  • Manage overall bridge schedule and crew productivity
  • Review and initiate field change requests and back charges
  • Enforce quality control and safety policies
  • Conduct daily team meetings and tool box talks
  • Provide Job Hazard Analysis prior to new work activities
  • Identify extra work or changes in conditions

Required skills

  • B.S. in Civil Construction preferred
  • 8 years of experience in civil construction
  • Expertise in scheduling, ordering, field supervision, and quality control
  • OSHA 10 certification
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Organizational skills and attention to detail
