Civil Staff Engineering Technician - SubstationPay: $45.52/hourLocation: Ann Arbor, MI (Onsite 5 Days/Week)Job Type: Contract-to-Hire (Temp-to-Perm) Job Summary Our client is seeking a Civil Staff Engineering Technician - Substation to support innovative Grid Solutions projects, including substations and overhead transmission infrastructure. This role offers the opportunity to work alongside multidisciplinary engineering teams to design and develop critical civil infrastructure that supports today's and tomorrow's energy demands.The ideal candidate will have strong experience using Civil 3D and MicroStation and be comfortable contributing to site development design, grading and drainage plans, erosion control, roadways, fencing, and underground utility layouts.This position is fully onsite in Ann Arbor, MI, and candidates must reside within 50 miles of the office. Requirements Green Card holder requiredMust be located within 50 miles of Ann Arbor, MIExperience with Autodesk Civil 3D and Bentley MicroStation requiredMinimum 5 years of related engineering technician experienceAbility to pass pre-employment screening requirements, including background check and drug screen Responsibilities Support engineering and design teams by developing and modifying technical deliverablesCreate and maintain civil design drawings, plans, and documentation using Civil 3D and MicroStationPrepare site development plans including grading, drainage, erosion control, roadways, fencing, and utility layoutsPerform design calculations, quantity takeoffs, estimates, and technical documentationReview design inputs and ensure consistency with project requirements, codes, and standardsApply established engineering principles and design practices to moderately complex projectsCoordinate with multidisciplinary project teams to support successful design developmentContribute to quality assurance efforts and continuous improvement initiativesProvide technical guidance and support to other engineering professionals and techniciansAssist with schedule maintenance and work assignments as neededSupport project field activities when requiredStay informed on emerging technologies, tools, and industry best practices Qualifications Minimum 5 years of related experience in civil engineering design or engineering technician rolesProficiency with Autodesk Civil 3D and Bentley MicroStationExperience creating technical drawings, models, and design deliverablesKnowledge of civil design standards, document control procedures, and applicable engineering codesStrong attention to detail and commitment to qualityAbility to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environmentExcellent organizational and communication skills
