Overview

Cannon Corp is seeking a Civil Senior Principal Engineer in Land Development to join their team in Irvine, California. This role involves providing supervision, coordination, technical support, and training to engineers and designers while managing diverse civil engineering projects in land development. The position offers a clear path to leadership within the Development Business Unit, with opportunities for professional growth and involvement in high-impact projects.

Key responsibilities

  • Manage a variety of civil engineering land development projects concurrently.
  • Establish and foster client relations and develop proposals and budgets.
  • Design plans for grading, drainage, utility, street, and off-site improvements.
  • Analyze and provide solutions to complex drainage problems.
  • Communicate effectively with various departments, clients, and agencies.
  • Mentor and supervise design associates on technical matters.
  • Manage quality assurance and quality control for projects.
  • Ensure projects are delivered on schedule and within scope and budget.
  • Coordinate with various jurisdictional agencies for approvals of improvement plans.
  • Participate actively in business development efforts in the Inland Empire area.

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering from an accredited college.
  • California P.E. license.
  • 15+ years of experience in civil engineering focused on land development projects.
  • 5+ years of experience supervising and managing projects under scope, schedule, and budget constraints.
  • Expertise in land development design and processing improvement plans.
  • Proficiency in civil engineering design software (AutoCAD, Civil3D, AES, WSPG, Flowmaster, etc.).
  • Experience in business development and client management.
  • Knowledge of hydrologic/hydraulic analyses is a plus.
