Overview

Cannon Corp is seeking a Civil Senior Principal Engineer in Land Development to join their team in Irvine, California. This role involves providing guidance and management for civil engineering projects, overseeing budgets and timelines, and mentoring junior staff to ensure successful project execution in residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments.

Key responsibilities

  • Manage a variety of civil engineering land development projects.
  • Establish and maintain client relations and develop proposals and budgets.
  • Use technical knowledge to design plans for grading, drainage, water quality, utility, and street improvements.
  • Analyze complex drainage problems and recommend solutions.
  • Mentor and supervise design associates on technical matters.
  • Ensure quality assurance and quality control in project delivery.
  • Coordinate with jurisdictional agencies to obtain approvals.
  • Participate in business development activities to expand opportunities.

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering
  • California P.E. license
  • 15+ years of experience in civil engineering land development
  • 5+ years of project management experience
  • Expertise in land development design
  • Experience with improvement plans and jurisdictional approvals
  • Proficient in civil engineering design software (AutoCAD, Civil3D, etc.)
  • Experience in business development and client management
