Overview

CMTS LLC is seeking a motivated QA Civil Inspector to support aviation infrastructure projects in Tampa, Florida. This full-time role involves performing quality assurance inspections on active airfield and airport construction projects, ensuring compliance with FAA standards and project specifications.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform QA inspections for aviation and airfield infrastructure construction projects
  • Conduct field inspections and monitor contractor activities
  • Inspect grading, excavation, earthwork, concrete paving, asphalt paving, and underground utility installations
  • Monitor installation of airfield electrical systems including runway lighting and signage
  • Review construction drawings, specifications, RFIs, and submittals related to QA/QC activities
  • Coordinate with contractors, construction managers, and project stakeholders
  • Document inspection activities, field observations, and corrective actions through reports
  • Verify corrective actions and conduct follow-up inspections
  • Monitor contractor compliance with quality control plans and FAA safety standards
  • Participate in project and safety meetings as required
  • Assist with punch list activities and project closeout documentation
  • Maintain organized inspection reports and quality records
  • Support operational coordination in active airport environments

Required skills

  • 7-15 years of QA/QC inspection or civil construction inspection experience
  • Strong experience with runway and taxiway construction projects
  • Knowledge of FAA airfield construction standards
  • Experience with airfield electrical systems
  • Ability to read and interpret construction documents
  • Strong understanding of OSHA safety regulations
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
