Job Description

Overview

The Civil Inspector at CMTS LLC will focus on ensuring quality assurance and quality control throughout various infrastructure projects, including aviation and public sector initiatives. This role requires close collaboration with various stakeholders to uphold safety and compliance standards while supporting project delivery in a dynamic construction environment.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform inspections for civil infrastructure construction projects to ensure compliance with plans and quality standards
  • Conduct field inspections and site observations
  • Review civil construction drawings, specifications, and testing reports
  • Document inspection activities and non-conformance issues
  • Coordinate with project managers and contractors to address quality concerns
  • Monitor contractor compliance with quality control and safety standards
  • Assist with project closeout activities and punch list verification
  • Participate in project meetings and maintain organized inspection records

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in civil, mechanical, or electrical engineering or equivalent experience
  • 5-12 years of QA/QC inspection or civil construction inspection experience
  • Knowledge of civil construction methods and quality assurance practices
  • Experience with grading, excavation, utility installations, and roadway construction
  • Familiarity with FAA, DOT, ACI, ASTM, AASHTO standards
  • Ability to read and interpret civil construction drawings
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, digital inspection tools, and project management software
