Overview

The Civil Foreman at The Middlesex Corporation is responsible for the planning, coordination, and execution of roadway construction activities. This role emphasizes effective leadership, quality control, and safety, ensuring projects are completed efficiently and on schedule.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead field planning and coordination for roadway construction activities.
  • Ensure compliance with safety policies and promptly report any incidents.
  • Organize and prioritize daily work activities in collaboration with the Superintendent.
  • Oversee time sheets and ensure timely submission of daily reports.
  • Monitor crew productivity and provide guidance to achieve daily goals.
  • Enforce quality control standards and adherence to safety policies.
  • Keep the project construction schedule on track and within scope.
  • Conduct daily team huddles and promote safety awareness.
  • Perform job hazard analysis to identify and mitigate risks.
  • Collaborate on material handling plans to enhance project workflow.
  • Collect delivery receipts for accurate record-keeping.

Required skills

  • 5 years of experience as a Foreman in roadway construction
  • Knowledge of calculating and setting grades
  • Experience in operating roadway construction equipment
  • Valid driver's license
  • OSHA 10 certification
  • Familiarity with construction project management processes
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Attention to detail and organizational skills
