Overview

The Town of Windsor is seeking a Civil Engineer IV to lead the Public Works Engineering Division. This senior role entails managing capital improvement projects related to streets, storm drainage, and water infrastructure, ensuring effective execution, compliance, and collaboration with various stakeholders. The Civil Engineer IV will also oversee budgeting, staff development, and strategic planning within the department.

Key responsibilities

  • Plan, develop, and manage capital improvement projects for public works infrastructure.
  • Supervise and mentor a team of engineers and construction inspectors.
  • Oversee budgeting, capital planning, and adherence to regulatory requirements.
  • Evaluate and manage Right-of-Way repair permits and compliance.
  • Collaborate with other departments and external agencies to coordinate services.
  • Respond to citizen inquiries and manage public complaints regarding projects.
  • Prepare and present budgets, project proposals, and reports to executive leadership.
  • Implement and evaluate safety and training programs for the division.
  • Identify and integrate new technologies to improve operations.
